The exhibit features work by regional migrant farm workers. Artwork includes Mandalas circular art using white and colored pencils on black paper creating interesting designs. Drawings and photographs of the migrants life experiences give insight into the migrant experience. The featured pieces for this show are on loan from The Creative Artists Migrant Program Services of Geneseo, New York. On Wednesday evening, October 24th Mary Zelazny of the Finger Lakes Migrant Health Office gave a presentation entitled Migrant Workers 101. She shared information including Where they live?? Where they are from?? And What do they do??? Included in the exhibit are artworks by local artists featuring other cultures and non-mainstream traditions.
Our November show features the well know artist Lynne Feldman of Rochester. She has been a painter in oils for the past 40 years and discovered Serigraphy (silk screen printing) in 1990. "I do all of my own color separations so, for me, this is a very painterly form of printing. " She entered the Art Students League of New York at age 12 and studied there for 15 years. She has a Masters degree in Art Education from Columbia University. Her works have been exhibited in galleries, public spaces and museums around the country. The reception is Sunday November 18 from 1-3 and the show will run from November 13th through December 22nd.
